There are different techniques that a commercial photographer can employ to create the best quality image that can click with the target audience. Quality can make the ad look good; but it not the only thing that contributes to a successful campaign. When it comes to making convincing advertisements, it is very important that we have the right expression from the subject who is the centrepiece of the advertisement or the campaign.
The subject may be a living thing or a non-living thing. And ridiculous as it may sound, it is quite important that the non-living thing should also look convincing. There are many ways you can make that happen. In fact, some exceptional advertisements make a non-living thing look alive and tempting. For example, consider the last one by Mc Donald's â€" do you recall the burger or the wrap they showed? Wasn't it so tempting that you almost felt like getting inside the picture and grasping the burger?
Now, let us talk about living subjects. First the animals â€" some animals do know how to express themselves, like dogs. It takes rare talent in a commercial photographer to make that happen. Till the time you develop that, the best you can do is to wait patiently till your subject obliges you. And then you would think it would be much easier to shoot human subjects. Some people are camera shy, amateur models included. And that is what sets them apart from professional models who know how to bring about the right kind of expression that sells the products.
However, a talented commercial photographer knows how to bring about the best in amateur models as well. They know how to build that rapport that would help their model to open up and express everything just the way required.
